YOUTH/CHILDREN
MISSIONS | ADULT MINISTRIES
FUMC is excited about the opportunity to serve our youth and children. Our goal is to make spiritual learning fun and interesting for all young people. For more information call the church office at (916)652-0469.
- Godly Play Sunday School
- Sunday mornings at 10:15 am and Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm children kindergarten through fourth grade experience God and recognize the presence of Christ through story telling and wondering questions… Bible stories come alive with beautiful teaching tools where children interact with the stories of God.
- Christmas Pageant and Advent Festival
- Children pre-school through the sixth grade creatively tell the Christmas story through drama, song, and dance on the second Sunday of December each year during morning worship. The pageant is followed by an Advent Festival for families of all types and sizes.
- Vacation Bible School
- Each summer we provide an opportunity for the community to bring their children to join with other children in the church in learning more about God, Jesus and their faith. Through wonderful stories, interactive projects, music, games, and crafts children deepen their relationship with God and Jesus.
- Youth Ministry
- Faith Exploration at 10:15 am following Sunday morning worship through Bible study, faith experiences, reflections, and discussion our young people, 5th grade through 7th grade and 8th grade through 12th grade, explore how they recognize God working in their lives, experience the presence of Christ and how their faith influences and shapes their response to the world. It also gives them the tools to handle the pressures and stress that often fill their lives.
- CAF and MYF 6:30–8:00 Sunday nights
- CAF (Christian Adventure Fellowship) is for youth 5th through 7th grades. UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) is for youth 8th – 12th grades. - Sierra Service Project
- Each summer youth 8th through 12th grade spend a week doing home construction and repairs on homes for Native American families on reservations in California, Nevada, Oregon and Arizona. This is a service project that builds faith, character, and friendships through hard work and reflection.
