- Fellowship Events:
- Opportunities for fellowship allow people to gather together and form close friendships.
- Monthly POTLUCKS are a great way to socialize. Everyone brings a dish to share and everyone is welcome!
- SPECIAL EVENTS occur during the year. Our Oriental Food Bazaar on the first Saturday in March is an annual tradition enjoyed by the whole community. Family Camp, the Advent Festival in December,annual fundrasing auction and Halloween party for families in October, talent shows and Holy Week activities and Vacation Bible School all help to bring us together.
- COME TO THE TABLE- Adults sign up to host monthly dinners for groups of 8 - 10. We take turns organizing a meal the our homes and each month the groups are shuffled so the opportunity exists to meet many new people throughout the year.
- Sunday School Classes:
- 9:00 and 10:30AM Sundays: Following worship, classes for adults include an ongoing Bible study, a drop-in discussion group and a topic centered group, i.e. social issues, parenting classes. Specific information can be found in the Scroll newsletter: Resources
- Other Bible Studies/Prayer Groups:
- Our church offers a 32-week DISCIPLE Bible Study class every year usually on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm for the opportunity to explore the depths of Scripture. Everyone is invited.
The Pastor’s Bible Study group meets at 10:30 am on Tuesdays in the UMYF room. Drop ins are most welcome. Pastor Maggie McNaught facilitates the discussion.
Nisei Bible Study occurs weekly at 11:00 on Thursdays facilitated by Pastor Maggie McNaught. The group explores a different book of the Bible weekly and anyone is welcome.
- Women's Groups:
- Two different women’s groups meet on Wednesday and explore a wide variety of topics dependent on participants. Contact Pastor Maggie McNaught, facilitator, for more information.
A women’s only Alcoholics Anonymous group gathers at the church. Call the church office at 652-0469 for specific time and place. - Marriage and Family Education Classes:
- Our church is committed to supporting couples with opportunities to improve communication skills, rekindle intimacy, deal with conflict, learn problem solving skills—all essential for creating a long lasting, exciting marriage. We also recognize the need to support those raising families and encourage families to learn skills that lead to family wellness. Watch the Scroll newsletter for dates and times of the following classes.
- “10 GREAT DATES” is a fun way to revisit the passion that brought you together and offers topics for couples to discuss while enjoying a great date together.
- “Mastering the Mysteries of Love” concentrates on helping couples practice good communication skills and handle problems in a safe, practical, and honest way in a 16 hour course.
- “Family Wellness Workshop” is 12 hours of a fun filled way to explore how families can relate to each other. Parents and children of all ages are in the room together learning how to set limits, ask for what each wants and needs, resolve problems together, and communication skills. Single parent families are most welcome.
- Samll Group Meetings:
- There are numerous small groups that meet at different times. The groups are between four and eight people. The discussions are based on the previous week's sermon or other topic. The questions for each week are on the website on Reflection Questions Week A, B or C under Resources.
- Senior Life Center:
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Senior LIFE Center gathers on our campus for fellowship, sewing and quilting classes, art classes, exercise programs, and special speakers and programs concentrating on the needs of our seniors. SPECIAL SPEAKERS SERIES: Coming up on Thursdays in October is “Brain Gain,” learning ways of keeping our brains active and fit will convene. Join us at noon for a delicious and nutritious lunch MORE. Others in our Special Speakers Series have included “Coming Fully Alive as You Age." This is a great way to learn about interesting issues and to meet folk from all over South Placer County. - Music:
- Get involved in our music ministery. Our choir sings at the Traditional Service and rehearses on Thursdays at 7:15. Anyone who loves to sing is invited. Contact Director, Carolyn Mark, for more information. Our Celebration Music Team sings/plays at the Comtemporary Service and reheasals on every other Wednesday night at 7PM.
